This is a drawing I did at a public hearing in our neighborhood.
I believe that making drawings – sketchnotes- at events captures moments that otherwise are gone forever.
Of course, we can videotape the whole discussion, and afterward watch it. If the event is important enough, this is done, and we can watch clips in the daily news.
But who wants to watch through two hours of video of a discussion at the local sports hall?
Drawings show out the important points in an exciting way.
At a glance.
Then the reader can decide if he wants more information about the event. Drawings can strengthen democracy.
