Whiteboard videos
Are whiteboard videos still a thing?
When I saw the first RSA Animate videos a few years ago, I was impressed and inspired, and I also wanted to do something like that.
After my first few attempts, I discovered that video was a lot of work, and I wasn't willing to invest the time.
I would also compete with apps like Videoscribe which have a library of ready-made drawings and even ready-made hands.
This lead to a flood of bad whiteboard videos, so now I don't pay attention to them anymore. The novelty is gone.
But there is still something magical about seeing a drawing appear.
Sometimes I share sped-up clips from sessions with clients or my courses. They are not made for sharing and are comparably unpolished.
What do you think - are whiteboard videos still worth putting time and energy in?
