The Inner Speech Bubble Method
Discovered today: The "Inner Speech Bubble Method".
Have you tried to change your mindset to become more positive?
Today I stumbled across a new way. And it works!
I started my daily drawing as always, by depicting what was on my mind: "Why is it always so difficult to promote my stuff?"
Then, when I saw this helpless little figure, I literally SAW that she is making life unnecessarily difficult for herself.
Why dwell in struggle? There must be a better question!
I changed the speech bubble to "How can I make it FUN to promote something?"
All of a sudden, my little avatar became enthusiastic. I gave it a more expansive pose and made the obstacles in her head into playthings.
And there it was - a completely new narrative.
Visual self-coaching in action!
By changing the speech bubble and the figure's expression, I was able to change my state of mind.
It's amazing how our mirror neurons react when we see a different expression, even (or especially?) if we draw it.
It opened me up to new ideas, and I believe it can do the same for you.
Try it out - pick up a pencil, draw your thoughts. If you don't like what it says – change it!
