My story in 4 logos
Ever feel stuck with your brand? Here's a secret: It's okay to change!
As a brand designer, I've always preached consistency.
But you know what? For solopreneurs like us, flexibility can be a superpower.
I just gave my own brand a makeover.
Here is my logo evolution over the years:
In the beginning I was a generalist graphic designer. I designed websites, brochures, logos, information systems and even carpets.
When I moved to Denmark, one of the things that set me apart was that I was German. I chose "Frau Lill" as my company name, because to Danish ears, it sounds fun.
When I started drawing, I added "illustration" to my name. I also removed the "Frau" because I now worked internationally. Plus, I used my "creative genius" mascot that I still love!
Then, I started brand strategy sketching. With a bleeding heart I removed the little genius and returned to a clean logo. I wanted to counterbalance my many cartoony illustrations.
Here's what I've learned:
Your personal brand can evolve without confusing people.
Testing new ideas is easier when you're the boss.
The branding police won't come after you for making changes.
The key is to focus on showing how you help people, not on having a perfect logo.
Speaking of which, what do you think of my new look? Would you even have noticed the new logo?
I'd love your feedback!
Remember: While design is fun (trust me, I know!), getting your offer in front of the right people matters most.

P.P.S. In Visual Minds, we do the same – only in a lovely group setting. Plus, you learn to draw!
