Your Archetypal Voice
Have you checked the brand quiz here on the site? It is like a personality test for your brand!
The quiz is based on Carol S. Pearson's book "The Hero and the Outlaw", based on ancient Story archetypes.
It is fun to do and can be helpful in finding your brand voice. It doesn't replace the fundamental work of finding out what you are doing for whom and why they want to pay you for it. But it helps you to find out how to say it, and how to appear on the photo.
Let's say you're a profitability expert.
You can be that in an "Everyman"- way, wearing a lumberjack shirt.
If you're a "Hero", maybe you should wear a sharp suit and tie.
If you are a "Magician", a hip T-Shirt might be the right thing to wear.
There are no "purebred" archetypes, everybody and every brand is a mix of various archetypes. This is what makes your brand voice unique.
This illustration is my take on a "rebel" + "lover" brand, inspired by a woman who took the test and asked me how that might look.
Yours might look completely different. It could be a "green" environmental brand. Or a non-profit, working in an unorthodox way.
How does your Brand archetype look, feel and sound?
